Blessed are you, Ansche Chesed, our Community of Kindness. You have enlivened one another and the world. You have sustained others, and our community – even during these dark days. Miraculously, we have reached Chanukah – our holiday of joyful light. Thank you, for enabling us, to reach this day.
Shehecheyanu v’kiy’manu v’higiyanu la’zman ha’zeh!
Thank you to the Ansche Chesed Hebrew School Virtual Band, and to Hazzan Hirschhorn, for leading us in the candle lighting blessings for the first night of Chanukah!

Wishing you a Chanukah filled with light, love and latkes!

Chanukah Opportunities

Ansche Chesed Chanukah Contest

Want to take your dreidel building and latke making skills to the next level this year? Participate in the AC Chanukah Contest to EITHER build a dreidel OR cook latkes. No need to go out and buy more materials – just use items you have around your house! Here are examples of innovative dreidels and new latke recipes. This is a time to let your creativity shine! Don’t forget to take pictures of your creations and send them to AC Family Program Director, Emily Cobert at ecobert@anschechesed.org, by December 16th. Winners will be announced on the last night of Chanukah, Thursday, December 17th.

Lighten Up The Darkness

We are looking for volunteers to bring more light to members of the Ansche Chesed community who have been isolated during the pandemic. Families with kids will have the option to be paired with another AC family and the community member, or just meet with the community member themselves to either (a). Light Chanukah candles all together via Zoom; (b). Send a Hanukkah gift or (c). Send Chanukah cards. Each family pair will have the opportunity to decide which option they want to do with the AC member. Families can decide when during Chanukah they would like to participate in this program. If you are interested in participating in this initiative, please email AC Family Program Director, Emily Cobert at ecobert@anschechesed.org.
