Hoshanah Rabbah and Erev Shemini Atzeret: Wednesday, October 23

Morning Minyan: 7:30am in the Mayer Cavalier Chapel

Evening Service: 6:30pm in the Mayer Cavalier Chapel

Shemini Atzeret and Erev Simchat Torah: Thursday, October 24

Early Shacharit (Including Yizkor): 7am in the Mayer Cavalier Chapel
Sanctuary Service: 9:30am in the Sanctuary or via Livestream
Minyan M’at Service: 10am in 5 North

Family Simchat Torah Dinner and Program: 6pm at Ansche Chesed
Join us for a FREE light dairy dinner followed by our annual Torah Unroll, dancing and Hakafot with the rest of the AC Community.

Simchat Torah Evening Service and Celebration: 6:45pm Ma’ariv in the Mayer Cavalier Chapel, 7pm Hakafot in Hirsch Hall
Come celebrate the Torah with singing, dancing, and hakafot (circling)!

Simchat Torah: Friday, October 25

Morning Service (Sanctuary and Minyan M’at): 9:45am on the Roof, with each minyan holding its own Torah reading
The singing and dancing continue as we finish reading the Torah and begin reading it all over again.

Communal Sukkah Use

All are welcome to come eat in our Sukkah – no registration required! Click here for the full Sukkah Schedule.

  • Meals in the Sukkah must conform to AC’s kashrut policy: Only dairy or parve foods prepared in a kosher kitchen or packaged kosher products are permitted. No meat is allowed in the sukkah.
  • Both the Rooftop Sukkah and the 5th Floor Sukkah are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner (between 8am to 10pm, unless otherwise noted on the schedule)
  • The Sukkah is closed for cleaning between 2-3pm during Hol HaMoed
  • AC provides paper goods, coffee and tea – no other beverages are provided
  • Please note that even on nights where there are Minyan or other dinners, the Sukkah is still open to the public

Family Sundaes and Ushpizin in the Sukkah

Monday, October 21 from 4 – 5:30pm in the Rooftop Sukkah

On Sukkot, it’s a tradition to welcome new people into the Sukkah each day. So, bring a friend to AC and join us on the rooftop Sukkah. We’ll make ice cream sundaes and sukkah decorations inspired by the tradition of welcoming ushpizin (guests) into our sukkah. We look forward to welcoming you and your ushpizin!

This event is free! Registration encouraged, walk ins welcome.

Lunch and Learn: Why is That in the Bible?

Tuesday, October 22 at 12:30 – 1:30pm in the Rooftop Sukkah

Working remotely? Retired? Stay-at-home parents? Taking a day off?

Please join Rabbi Kalmanofsky for a monthly lunch-and-learn program to study some of the stranger passages in the Hebrew Bible. You’ll meet giants and sea monsters, psychedelic visionaries and stone-cold killers. We’ll retell the Torah’s dirty jokes, sexy poems and gruesome horror stories. Some of this material will raise important religious or moral questions. Most will be fun and funny.

Bring your lunch, according to the AC Kashrut policy, and we will provide cookies and drinks.

CANCELLED: 18th Annual Sukkot Sing-Along

Tuesday, October 22 at 7pm in the Rooftop Sukkah

Unfortunately, this year’s Sukkot Sing-Along Dinner has been cancelled. 

The Sukkah will still be open if you would like to eat your dinner there independently. Please see the Communal Sukkah Use section for further details.

Thursday, October 24 at 6pm in Hirsch Hall

Join us for a FREE light dairy dinner followed by our annual Torah Unroll, dancing and Hakafot with the rest of the AC Community.

Stick around for ice cream and popsicles after the second Hakafa!
