New York Cares Coat Drive

What if you couldn't get to work, pick up your prescriptions from the pharmacy, or send your child to school this winter? All because you didn't have a decent coat to wear. This year in Wednesday night Talmud we will study the tenth chapter of Tractate Yevamot. In this chapter, the Talmud wrestles with "the Return of Martin Guerre." What happens when a woman remarries after a spouse's supposed death, only to discover that the reports of his demise were greatly exaggerated? The textual, ethical and literary challenges elicited profound responses from centuries of interpreters, including Shai Agnon, the modernist writer who wove a novella from this material.

Shirei Chesed Community Chorus

Founded in 2005, our 4-part chorus has grown to 50 voices! This year we are preparing for a Concert Jewish Songs of Love from Around the World, on Sunday, April 7 at 4pm, At this point in the year, only experienced singers are invited to join.
