Yom Hazikaron/Yom Ha’atzmaut Sing Along
Tonight the State of Israel ushers in Yom HaZikaron, remembering its fallen heroes. Join Cantor Hirschhorn and Shirei Chesed singers for a zoom Sing Along to mark it with some of the most poignant and beloved Israeli songs. Shlomit Oren-Ross, an Israeli performative artist, will lead AC families through a fun Yom Ha’atzmaut Mesibah - a party for Israel’s 73rd birthday! Connecting To My Shtetl
Starting with her own mishpucha from Poland and Galicia, Barbara Sontz has been researching Jewish family histories since 1999, She travelled on paths that led her back in time to the 18th century and on present-day trips to Poland, Israel and Argentina. She has a special connection to her mother's birthplace in Ilza, Poland, where she visited and organized projects devoted to restoring the history of the town's former Jewish residents.
