On June 7th, we will host an Iftar dinner at the shul with a number of Muslim refugees here in the US, in cooperation with a social activist group called Purpose. One of these refugees joined us at the synagogue seder on Passover, and helped us celebrate our holiday. The New Sanctuary Coalition of NYC is an interfaith network of congregations, organizations, and individuals, standing publicly in solidarity with families and communities resisting detention and deportation in order to stay together.
