Communal Sukkah Use
All are welcome to come eat in the Ansche Chesed Sukkah! Please RSVP using our online form: https://anschechesed.shulcloud.com/form/sukkah-2026
Please note the following rules:
- Meals in the Sukkah must conform to AC’s kashrut policy: Only dairy or parve foods prepared in a kosher kitchen or packaged kosher products are permitted. No meat is allowed in the sukkah.
- Both the Rooftop Sukkah and the 5th Floor Sukkah are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner (between 8am to 10pm, unless otherwise noted on the schedule)
- The Sukkah is closed for cleaning between 2-3pm during Hol HaMoed
- AC provides paper goods, coffee and tea – no other beverages are provided
- Please note that even on nights where there are Minyan or other dinners, the Sukkah is still open to the public

Sukkah Decorating PartyWednesday, September 23 from 4:30 – 6pm in the Rooftop Sukkah Join us on the AC roof to help decorate and beautify our Sukkah! We’ll bring art supplies and snacks, you bring the Sukkot simcha – joy! Geared at kids ages 3-10. Teens welcome to volunteer! |
Boker Tov Tots in the SukkahSaturday, September 26 from 10:15 – 10:50am in the Rooftop Sukkah Babies, tots, preschool kids and their families are invited to join us for breakfast in the Sukkah before the Mishpacha service on the second floor. We’ll provide the food. Kids can eat and play, and parents will have time to schmooze and get to know one another. RSVP here, walk-ins welcome! |
Lunch & Learn in the Sukkah — Kohelet: Pessimistic or optimistic? Joyful or gloomy?Tuesday, September 29 at 12pm in the Rooftop Sukkah We read the book of Kohelet, Ecclesiastes, every Sukkot. What does it actually mean? Kohelet writes: And also tells us: Is Kohelet fundamentally pessimistic or radically optimistic? Join Rabbinic Intern Harry Aaronson for a closer look at the text, and decide for yourself. Young Professionals Interfaith Board Games in the SukkahTuesday, September 29 at 7:30pm in the Rooftop Sukkah Please join the Young Professionals group for a night of board games and fun in AC’s rooftop Sukkah! If you bring food, please make sure it is dairy or parve (no meat) and either prepared in a kosher kitchen or purchased under kosher certification (per our Kashrut Policy). |
20th Annual Sukkot Sing-AlongWednesday, September 30 at 7pm in the Rooftop Sukkah Join Hazzan Natasha Hirschhorn, Shirei Chesed Chorus singers and guest musicians for our Annual Sukkot Sing-Along. We will pick the most beautiful and fun Jewish folk songs from Israel and beyond to sing the night away! Bring a dairy or parve dish to share for a pot-luck dinner. Note that all food should be prepared in accordance with our Kashrut Policy (purchased under rabbinic supervision, cooked in a kosher kitchen, or prepared uncooked in any kitchen). |
Community Chinese Dinner in the SukkahThursday, October 1 at 6:30pm in the Rooftop Sukkah Join us for a festive community Chinese dinner in the sukkah! Come together with friends and neighbors to enjoy a delicious meal, celebrate Sukkot, and spend time together in the sukkah. All are welcome! Dinner will be from Buddha Bodai, a vegetarian and Kosher chinese restaurant. Gluten free options available. |
Teen Sushi Making in the SukkahThursday, October 1 from 6 – 7:30pm in the 5th Floor Patio Sukkah Calling all teens! Come join us on Sukkot to make delicious Sushi in the Sukkah, play games and hang out with your friends. Can’t wait to see you there! (Please note, this event will take place in the sukkah on the 5th floor.) This event is free! RSVPs encouraged, walk ins welcome. |
Family Simchat Torah Dinner and CelebrationSaturday, October 3 at 6:15pm in Hirsch Hall Join us for a FREE light dairy dinner followed by our annual Torah Unroll, dancing and Hakafot with the rest of the AC Community. Stick around for ice cream and popsicles after the second Hakafa! |
