Sun, December 8 at 4:00 pm
Event Navigation
In times of heightened animosity and political divisions, when we struggle to hear each other, we invite you to experience diverse musical voices that long for connection, dare to hope and celebrate life. Join us to hear the Shirei Chesed Community Chorus and Nashirah: the Jewish Chorale, with special guest Yuval Cohen, Demi Soloist at Philadelphia Ballet.
It will be an inspiring afternoon of harmony featuring an excerpt of composition “That Love” by the Palestinian musician and activist Wisam Gibran, commissioned and performed by the two choral collectives in 2018, as well as Israeli and Ukrainian songs, and beautiful classical settings of the Jewish liturgy. Also featuring the New York premiere of a new commissioned composition by Hazzan Hirschhorn, “Blessing of Peace.”
