Israel on 5th: Celebrate Israel Parade
Sun, June 2 at 11:30 am
Join the Celebrate Israel Parade, marching for Israel’s 76th Anniversary and to support the hostages and their families as we call for their immediate release.
Only marchers with pre-registered groups will be allowed on the parade route. Marchers must stay with their group and wear the group’s t-shirt.
If you plan to march, please make sure to register with either of these groups (or another):
- The UWS cluster with the UJA NY Federation, meeting at 53rd Street between Fifth and Madison Aves at 11:30am. Contact Gali Rabin Choresh with any questions.
- The Hostage Families Forum and Ameinu (RSVP to get the specific meeting place and time details).
Please note the following logistical and security guidelines:
- Come early to leave time for security screening, entrance opens at 10am.
- Entrance to Fifth Avenue will only be from Madison Avenue, arriving from the East Side at 61st, 63rd, 66th, 70th, or 73rd Street. There is no access to Fifth Avenue from Central Park, and no spectators may watch from the west side sidewalk.
- There are no streets to cross Fifth Avenue along the parade route. The only crossings are at 51st, 59th, and 79th Streets.
- There are fewer viewing areas this year, and no spectators permitted below 62nd Street.
- No large bags, backpacks or umbrellas are allowed. This prohibition will be enforced. Strollers are strongly discouraged.
- You can watch the event online: Israel Day on Fifth will be broadcast on My9 and livestreamed on the Israel Day on Fifth website, JCRC-NY’s YouTube Channel, and JCRC-NY’s Facebook page.
