Ansche Chesed will join thousands of New Yorkers to participate in the annual MLK Day of Service. Get to know other AC members while working together to make a difference in the greater NYC community.
Ansche Chesed will be participating in two service projects:
Assemble Food Packages for Local Food Pantry
From 10-11:30am
Ages 8 and up.
Our group will join other volunteers at JCC Harlem’s food packaging project. We will create shelf-stable food packets in environmentally friendly packaging and utilizing high quality, bulk food. The food packets created will be available at the Community Kitchen & Food Pantry’s supermarket-style pantry for clients to select and then bring home to cook.
Location: JCC Harlem: 318 West 118th Street
Revitalization/Painting in the Bronx
From 1-4pm
We will volunteer with Habitat for Humanity’s Brush With Kindness program to help revitalize the communal spaces of a low-income housing facility in the Bronx. No expertise is needed – site staff will guide us in the project.
Ages 14 and up.
Location: We will be working in the Bronx. Exact location will be provided by Brush With Kindness closer to the date.
