Project Aliyah: Mitzvah Project Workshop with Natalie Silverstein + Tallit & Tefillin Workshop with Rabbi Yael and Rabbi Jeremy

Sun, January 5 at 10:00 am12:00 pm

Mitzvah Project Workshop: 10 – 11am

At 10am, we will have a workshop about developing a meaningful, personalized mitzvah project with Natalie Silverstein, an author, speaker, nonprofit founder, philanthropist and passionate advocate for family and youth service. Natalie has written the books Simple Acts: The Busy Family’s Guide to Giving Back and The Busy Teen’s Guide to Making a Difference. She is also the host of the award-winning weekly podcast, Simple Acts, Big Impact: Celebrating Teen Changemakers and the New York coordinator of Doing Good Together, an organization with the mission of helping parents raise kids who care and contribute. In this role, she curates a free monthly e-mail listing of family-friendly service opportunities that is distributed to thousands of subscribers in New York City.

Tallit & Tefillin Workshop: 11am – 12pm

At 11am, we will explore the mitzvot of tallit and tefillin, practice putting them on, and discuss what they mean as a B’nai Mitzvah, all with guidance from our rabbis.

If you already have a tallit and/or tefillin for your Bar or Bat Mitzvah student, please bring them to this session, so we can help you resize them if necessary. They are not necessary to buy at this point, however.

For those who are looking to purchase a tallit or tefillin, there are many different styles, at different price points, available online.

Please register here.
