Event Navigation
Jews spend LOTS of hours — especially during Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur — reciting ancient prayers. Maybe during those long hours you wonder what you’re doing. Does God hear? Or exist? Might some other activity be more useful?
During the month of Elul, as Rosh HaShanah approaches, please join AC’s clergy to explore how we can make our prayer meaningful. Be not afraid! No honest question or proposed answer is out of bounds. Yael, Natasha and Jeremy will facilitate conversations among us, and will share what works for them. All sessions will meet at 7:30 on the Tuesday and Thursday evenings of Elul.
How can we face our shortcomings without giving up hope?
This short fragment of an ancient poem reminds us that we are not orphaned, nor abandoned in this world but held in the Hand of our Creator with infinite kindness – the soul is Yours, the body is Yours, have compassion upon Your handiwork. Let the song lead you through vulnerability to connection and belonging.
