The Torah of Abraham Joshua Heschel
This year marks the 50th yahrzeit of R. Abraham Joshua Heschel z”l. Instead of our usual Talmud study, Rabbi Kalmanofsky’s Wednesday night group will devote the fall months to Heschel’s thought. Please join us to experience the depth and beauty unlocked by this epochal sage. Followed by ma'ariv at 8pm. Also available virtually via Zoom.

Social Action Town Hall Meeting: Supporting Refugees and Reopening the AC Shelter
Ansche Chesed, our "Community of Kindness," has a strong track record of turning our religious commitments into action, to help neighbors near and far. For more than 30 years we have hosted and staffed a homeless shelter. Now that Shabbat is ending early, we invite our youngest friends to join us for a Havdalah Pajama Party! We will experience Havdalah together, and enjoy singing, stories + yummy and healthy food. Do you want to help our neighbors at St. Paul and St. Andrew bake and package 700 dozen cookies for Goddard Riverside’s Community Thanksgiving meal? Goddard will serve 1400 to-go meals that day to our neighbors, and we are helping with dessert! You can sign up by the dozen. Please package your homemade goodies in individual sandwich bags. Profiles in Peace Book Discussion with Rabbi Ron Kronish
Join us for a discussion with Rabbi Ron Kronish about his new book, Profiles in Peace: Voices of Peacebuilders in the Midst of the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict. Rabbi Kronish is an interreligious peace activist and longtime Jerusalem resident whose new book traces the lives of six veteran peacebuilders – three Palestinian Arabs and three Jewish Israelis – offering their visions for a better future for Palestinians and Israelis alike. Join us as we launch this year's B'nai Mitzvah cohort! Spend some time connecting as a family, getting to know other AC B'nai Mitzvah families and hearing more about the B'nai Mitzvah journey at AC. Parents will have the opportunity to meet with Rabbis Jeremy Kalmanofsky and Yael Hammerman, and Executive Director Josh Hanft for an overview of the AC B'nai Mitzvah process.
