Annual Midnight Run
Join Ansche Chesed members in collecting, sorting, and distributing food, clothing, and toiletries to homeless New Yorkers. You can learn more about the organization at www.midnightrun.org. Ansche Chesed Survey: Highlights
Please join us for a community meeting to discuss the findings of the synagogue-wide survey, and work together to chart an initial course of action. There will be a presentation of the survey highlights, followed by round table discussions. Bagels and lox will be served, and the gym will be open for supervised children's play. Join us monthly, after morning minyan, for coffee and bagels and to learn with Rabbi Kalmanofsky. This year, we will have a taste of The Holy Zohar, the "Bible" of Kabbalah (Jewish mysticism). Register here. In 2006, Israeli and Palestinian former combatants, people who had taken an active role in the conflict, laid down their weapons and established Combatants for Peace. The egalitarian, bi-national, grassroots movement was founded on the belief that the cycle of violence can only be broken when Israelis and Palestinians join forces. Join Rabbi Yael for a “Judaism Crash Course” geared at parents who would like to strengthen their own Jewish knowledge, skills and comfort level. Open to individuals of any religious background. We will explore the Jewish holiday cycle and synagogue building, navigate through the Siddur (prayer book) and Chumash (Bible), and work together to connect with what our kids are learning in their Jewish education. Everyone is invited for the 2nd Night of Chanukah Candle Lighting Bring your own menorah and a musical instrument to play, if you'd like!
