Walking Tour of the Lower East Side
Open to Project Aliyah & Middle School families and friends 11am-1pm Tour (Transportation: 10am - meet at the 96th Street Subway station, north plaza, by the benches) Travel back to the Lower East Side in 1900 and meet some of the Jews that lived in the most crowded neighborhood in the world. Souls on Fire

Hazzan Hirschhorn will talk about the Daughters of Zelophad and the history of women becoming cantors; Kara Tav will teach about the "wise woman of Tekoa," who taught King David a thing or two; Sam Hollander will speak about Daniel, who navigated Nebuchadnezzar's court. And if time remains, Rabbi Kalmanofsky will talk about Michaya ben Imla and the prophecy of doom.
