Join us for lively services and some wine and cheese on the Roof (weather permitting), to welcome Shabbat on this Labor Day weekend, as we watch the sunset over the Hudson River.

This service, geared toward 3rd through 6th graders, delves into the structure, purpose and words of our Shabbat morning tefillot (prayers) and the weekly parshah (Torah portion), which we experience as community through discussion and interactive activities. Aimed at ages 8-12, kids only.

Babies, toddlers and preschool age kids and their families are invited to join us for our Mishpacha Service. Get in the Shabbat spirit with songs, puppets, movement — and your friends from Ansche Chesed. Geared towards children ages 0-4, with parents.

This service, geared towards children in Kindergarten through 2nd Grade, introduces children to a variety of Shabbat tefillot (prayers). A section of the Torah is read and the week’s parsha (Torah portion) is presented through discussion, skits, and stories. Aimed at children ages 5-7, with parents.

Kabbalat Shabbat: Shabbat Shalom Banayich
We invite all kids to bring their families to Ansche Chesed, to welcome Shabbat together with songs and stories, led by our clergy and Aliza Sebert. The service will highlight our ACHS Kitah Dalet and Hey students - but all are welcome! There will also be a special Thanksgiving-themed snack! Join us in-person in the Chapel, or virtually on Zoom.

Kabbalat Shabbat with New Voices – Shira B’Dira
This Friday evening we open our doors to the Shira B’Dira community and celebrate the beginning of Shabbat with joyful song and powerful ruach. All are welcome! Shira b’Dira (literally translates as "song in apartment") was started by Eliana Light and Sam Blustin in 2015 as a liturgically traditional, egalitarian singing prayer community based on the UWS. Refugee Shabbat – Immigrants, Refugees and Asylum Seekers: Then and Now
