We celebrate the Torah with singing, dancing, and hakafot (circling). Families with young children will have their own celebration beginning at 5:30 pm and will then join the main service for their own hakafah.

Family Sukkot Potluck Kiddush
Saturday, October 7 at 12:15pm in the Roof Top Sukkah
Join us for a Family Potluck Kiddush in the Sukkah! We will meet on the roof after kids services. Please bring a dairy or pareve dish to share.
Sanctuary Service Dinner in the Sukkah
Saturday night, October 7 at 7pm
Join your fellow members of the Sanctuary Service for a festive dinner in the sukkah. Enjoy a catered dairy meal, with a fish or vegetarian entrée from Chef Bruce Soffer.
Ansche Chesed will supply kiddush wine only. Please bring your own challah and potable and palatable wine.
Please sign up by Tuesday night, October 3rd so we can plan accordingly.

11th Annual Sukkah Sing-Along!
Tuesday, October 10 at 7pm
Join Hazzan Natasha Hirschhorn, Shirei Chesed Chorus singers, Mike Cohen on woodwinds and other guest musicians for our Annual Sukkah Sing-Along!
Partake in a festive meal on our rooftop Sukkah, bring your family, a friend or two, and a dairy or pareve dish to share. We will pick the most beautiful and fun Jewish folk songs from Israel and beyond to sing the night away!

Israeli Film and Discussion in the Sukkah
Tuesday, October 10 at 7pm in the 5th Floor Sukkah
Join Upper West Side Shaliach, Hai Piasezky, in our Sukkah to watch a few short films as a part of The Other Israeli Film Festival, followed by a conversation about the important topics raised in these films.
Kids Shemini Atzeret Services
Thursday, October 12 at 11am in the Chapel
Kids of all ages are welcome to join our special Shemini Atzeret service with Rabbi Yael! Parents are welcome to attend as well.
Family Simchat Torah Celebration
Thursday, October 12 at 5:30pm in Hirsch Hall
Join us Thursday evening for a light dairy dinner followed by dancing and our annual Torah Unroll! All are welcome to stay for the Ansche Chesed Simchat Torah celebration. We will have a special children’s ice cream party after the first Hakafa.

NOTE: The Sukkah will be closed for cleaning between 2 pm and 3 pm daily during Chol HaMoed when morning services are not held. The Sukkot open at 8am
Both the rooftop sukkah and the 5th floor sukkah are open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Ansche Chesed provides paper goods and coffee and tea, but no other beverages.
Meals in the sukkah must conform to Ansche Chesed’s kashrut policy: Only dairy or parve foods prepared in a kosher kitchen or packaged kosher products are permitted. No meat is allowed in the sukkah.
** Please note that even on nights where there are Minyan Dinners, the sukkahs are still open to the public.
