Kabbalat Shabbat on the Roof
I have come to my garden, my one, my bride... Friday night, June 2 we invite you to join us for a Kabbalat Shabbat service devoted to romance. June remains the most popular month for weddings (at least according to Wikipedia), so to begin the month, Hazzan Hirschhorn and Rabbi Jeremy Kalmanofsky have crafted a service from the Bible's love poem, Song of Songs, to celebrate human companionship. In honor of the Congregation trip to Poland, our Friday night davening and oneg will come with a Polish flavor. The Kabbalat Shabbat and Maariv prayers will be led by a Warsaw born vocalist Channah Silverman, who is a Cantorial Student at the Jewish Theological Seminary. Channah frequently davens at Ansche Chased's morning minyan and Shabbat services, and her singing is enriched by her training in classical opera and jazz. Ansche Chesed Barbecue On The Roof
Summertime, and the living is easy... Join us as we start our July 4th festivities early at the Ansche Chesed BBQ. As the evening sky emerges, we will enjoy traditional hotdogs and hamburgers (veggies options too), as we enjoy the warmth of Summer. Join the Ansche Chesed community for our Simchat Torah services. The Sanctuary and Minyan M'at will davven together outdoors on the roof. We will continue into shared hakafot, with singing and dancing under the same conditions as the night before.
